OUR HISTORY

Country Club Media started one late night with a pencil in hand and a quiet kind of rebellion.

​

I was sitting at my desk, creatively drained, thinking about where design was heading. A company I had previously worked with had begun using AI to rework some of my past designs, pieces I had carefully hand drawn, now being turned into quick content. It was not done with bad intent. It was simply where things were going. Still, seeing that shift made something click. The time, the thought, the care that once went into those designs felt like it was being lost.

I knew something had to change.

​

So I stepped away from the screen and just started doodling. No pressure, no purpose, just trying to reconnect with the work. Somewhere in that moment, a small figure took shape. A vintage golfer, mid swing. It was not perfect, but it felt real. That sketch became our logo, and I named him Rory.

 

I had given him that name months before Rory McIlroy won the 2025 Masters, which is still a funny coincidence. The name itself comes from something more personal. Rory is a blend of Ryan and Cory, mine and my older brother’s names. Cory has been the driving force behind this from the beginning. He believed in the idea before it was fully formed and pushed me to keep going when it would have been easier not to. Naming the logo after that connection felt right. It grounded everything in something real.

The name Country Club Media came soon after. It was inspired by a feeling more than anything else. A kind of classic New England atmosphere, walking through towns on the Cape where the signs were hand painted, the buildings had character, and every detail felt considered. There is a charm to that kind of place. You see it in the architecture, in the colors, in the way things are made. Even something as simple as sitting outside at a country club on a warm afternoon, linen shirts, big hats, everything relaxed but intentional. Nothing rushed, nothing careless.

That is the aesthetic we chase. Not just vintage for the sake of it, but a return to effort, to balance, to things that are made with purpose. We take that feeling and bring it into modern work, building brands and creative that feel thoughtful, consistent, and human.
